Pretty in Yellow

This spring and summer time I've favored yellow clothing and accessories for my daughter.
I made some shopping early in the spring and was inspired by a couple of sandals I've found for Luna.
I made this little outfit, perfect for the beach wear, out of some leftover fabrics at home.

I also made this little green and yellow stone necklace and decided not to use any metal bits, so there's nothing that can brake up or scratch her. She was excited !! The first necklace just for her. ( No need for stealing from mom).

Here's the new lock I invented for this necklace.

Pretty in yellow, here's my little girl.

Summer Outfits and Relaxing Times

This week I've taken time to relax, to have slow short walks by the sea and in the centre and to start a tiny little project. I'm making a little green dress out of some left over fabrics for Luna and a matching necklace. It's her first necklace so I have no idea how long the necklace will be worn, or if she will wear it at all, but I have an inspiration and I need to finish what I have in mind.

I will post a photo when the dress is done, xxx

While at Home

Today I'm going to present a couple of things I've made while at home
with a very little budget.

I'm the one who always loses the keys.
Mostly my keys get lost in my massive handbag.
I solved this problem by making this relatively big key holder.
It's made with Mona Luna and IKEA fabrics and it works !! My keys haven't been
lost ever since I've started to use this one.

I bought this beautiful fabric from MARIMEKKO last summer while
visiting my home in Finland and so far I've made two things out of it.
The i phone case and a little skirt for my daughter.
There's still some fabric left, but I haven't decided yet what to do
with the left over.

In the last picture you can see the little summer hose of Luna Lisa
and just yesterday I organized it a bit and created a little reading angle.
I think it's a cute little nest for spending
a moment in privacy for Luna.

Here it is, the summer house of Luna.

Moving On With The Book Project

This week I've started to really feel the pregnancy. I walk slowly, I forget things and I feel all funny. I've started to sleep really well and I feel like my body is asking me to slow down. About six weeks to go, so no wonder. I've taken time to do some yoga, rest and I try to eat as well as possible. I've used my own time for continuing the little book project that I started some time a go. I've been reading a lot of new blogs and have had some great ideas for modifying the look of my own blog.
I'm gonna try to work on that next week.

Another nice thing is that my dear M is right now out in a search of a potential new home for us and I can't wait for him to come home and share the news. We've used so much time for the search, we've been looking in the country as well as in the city center but nothing has come up so far. I really can't wait to have some more space at home for all of us.

Next week we've got the St Nicholas "festival " here in Bari and there are already lots of decorations and entertainment rides for kids outside. Let's hope the weather is good so we can enjoy the party !!!

Happy Easter Time

The highlight of our Easter this year will be that my mum is coming over from Finland for a vacation.
We're going to eat well, make some modification's for the apartment for the new arrival (not for my mum, but for the baby) and I think that we'll make a small trip again in Matera. That will be so exciting ! This week I've colored some Easter eggs with acrylic colors and created this new couple,
Mr and Mrs Bunny out of recycled materials. That's all. Enjoy your holidays with friends and family and some good food !

It's Friday

This week I've had the luxury of having the mornings free, peaceful and quiet. Monday morning I imagined my self making long walks, doing yoga, working on the book project and finishing it half way and all this would leave me satisfied, relaxed and wonderful.
Of course, like often in life, it just doesn't keep up with our plans.

It's been more like running in grocery stores, washing laundry, ironing and cooking. I often cook in the morning, just to be able to have more free time in the evening with my family. Am I nuts ?
Who is this person ? Two years a go I never imagined my self doing such a thing. Well this is me
being a mum. Feeling guilty of not having enough quality time with my family. Even if, seriously I do. I'm sure there are other mums knowing exactly what I'm talking about. I would just love to hear your thoughts about it. Do you feel guilty ? Isn't it hard to feel like a good mum ? Even if you probably are. Well this all could be solved by organizing the time better and maybe doing some of the listed duties in the evening time. But I'm not quit there yet.
Another little obstacle this week has been that I'm sick again. Yeah, I know it's spring and all and I've been posting all those sunny photos, but the truth is that I feel like half death, my eyes are shiny, red and itching so I guess it means that I have some sort of an infection. Oh god, when will this stop.
This is easily the 4th or 5th time this winter of me not being well. And I have been eating well, I drink those damn green smoothies and I put lemon in my water and all, but I don't think it's working for me. Not this winter.

Anyway, enough of moaning. This is life, isn't it. We all have our difficulties, fears and stress.
That's how life is. And it's not a big deal. Important is how you will cope with everything.
Will you feel miserable or can you find something positive about the situation.
Just some of the things that make me feel good this week are listed below :

* The Spring is still here !
* My daughter has been in nursery for almost two weeks now, and she's still not sick.
I can see that she enjoys playing with other kids, learns so many things so fast and has
been getting some really nice feedback from the teachers.
* I did have time to draw and I really love it.
* I feel much more satisfied and yes relaxed after having a bit more free time for my self.
* It's Friday and I'm about to spend another lovely weekend with my family.

What positive can you find in your day, or week ? Just think about it, and you'll smile.
Have a nice weekend everyone !
Oh and here's a picture of part of what I've done for the book project so far.
